Just a little me

The type of work I like to do is anything involving humans as the subject matter. For me, humans are an incredible and interesting creation, each with their own story to tell and their own way of expressing. Just by taking a quick glance at someone, they have a story to tell, and I like to capture that within my art.

For my work, I start with with an idea that comes to mind, then solidify it by searching for reference that would work to achieve the image I desire. My research consists of more than just human reference, but can also include fashion, sceneries, patterns and sceneries. I find that research is such a vital step because it educates me on how something is suppose to look. I get my reference from many sources with the biggest one being the internet due to the sheer volume of images one can find. After a finalized sketch is finished, depending on the medium I plan to use, I'll clean up the lines with an inking pen or digitally, or I'll leave it the way it is and jump right into rendering. The rendering is normally done digitally, with pencil, or with pencil crayon. I typically work on an 8.5 x 11 inch size, both traditionally and digitally.

With my current work, I'm exploring other mediums and art styles in an attempt to branch out of my comfort zone. I wouldn't say there's one specific inspiration that fuels my artwork, but rather, from life experience and the entirty of the internet. With the internet providing an instant result for almost anything you could want to find, I've utilized it as a tool to completing my projects.
